Death Note is another one of my favorite anime's. Death Note is About a Teenager named Yagami Light. Yagami Light is a normal (unless you consider the fact that hes practically a genius...) Teenage High Schooler who happens to stumble upon a certain odd book called a 'Death Note'. Light picks up the book and goes on to read the directions inside. Light discovers that when you write a persons full name in this book that you know the face of, that person will die. Unless the method of death is clarified, that person will die of a heart attack. At first Light doesn't believe that this is possible, until he puts it to the test. Light picks a random criminal and writes his name in the Death Note and surprisingly enough, a few seconds later, that person is reported to have died of a heart attack. After Light does this, He meets a strange monster named Ryuk that calls himself a Shinigami (or death god in the english translation). Ryuk tells Light that whoever touches the Death Note will be able to see him. He also tells Light that Anyone who uses the Death Note cannot go to heaven nor hell. Light decides to use his new found power to free the world of evil and become the new world which he wants to creates god. After a while of Light killing off criminals, The police catch on to the odd coincedence and decide that someone must be doing this. The police give the culprit the nickname 'Kira'. The main person behind the police investigation is the legendary 'L'. At first no one knows his identity but he eventually reveals himself to be called Ryuuzaki. (Which is still not his real name...). Many of the detectives working under L decide to quit because they fear for there Lives. Ryuuzaki ends up working with a trust worthy group of about 5 or 6 people which includes Light's Father, and eventually, Light himself. Ryuuzakis suspects Light to be Kira, but keeps him on the case anyway. After a while of working on the case, a second Kira is dicovered. She later reveals herself to Light to be the Famous model Amane Misa, with her shinigami named Rem. Death Note is basically the on going battle between L and Kira. Death Note may be short with only about 37 episodes but it is a great anime.
